Excellent question, sometimes the term service call can be confused with a consultation or a quote so its good to be clear what it entails. A service call is a service that diagnoses and delivers a solution to fix a problem that is 1) not allowing the gate to function or 2) causing intermittent problems that may pose a security risk. Because the call does require one of our professionals to diagnose the issue (this would mean him performing actual labor) it does incur a service fee to have this accomplished. The fee covers the first hour of service and any MINOR parts (typically under 20USD) that may be needed, however MAJOR parts and return trips are at a separate cost. The service also includes and (PM) of movable parts (like gate or barrier arm) and full diagnoses and (PM) of unit to be serviced. PM= preventative maintenance. To learn more please call and our access control specialist would be glad to speak with you.
This would depend on the unit to be service. A1 Access services all brands of operators and all years but if its worth it to have service fee would correlate with how old the motor is. Many of older units have 1) either updated their model to replace a older unit causing them to no longer make parts OR 2) The manufacturing company has since gone out of business and the parts are no longer obtainable. Granted some parts may be able to be found on third-party websites but buyer be aware these parts are used and typically will not come with a warranty. If parts are no longer in service its our recommendation to forego the service call and replace the unit since you would then have a manufactures and labor warranty back on your new investment.
New units do indeed come with a Manufactures warranty and a Labor warranty. The manufactures warranty ranges anywhere from 2 to 5 years and covers all parts associated with the new unit that may be defective. ** this does not cover acts of nature or faulty power issues** The labor warranty is from us and this lasts 1 yr from date of installation. This warranty covers all worked performed by A1 Access. (if something falls of or over on its own, well fix it :) One thing to keep in mind is although the manufacture will cover the price for the part they do not cover the time and labor to have it installed so we do charge a fee for trips to install warrantied parts.
Another Excellent question, and the answer is yes! We all know nothing lasts forever these days and when something decides it wants to break, it does it at the worst possible time... While you're running late for that appointment.. or even worse when its pouring down rain and the gate won't open! Don't worry we got you covered. A1 Access offers maintenance plans structured under the guidelines by most gate opener manufactures themselves. These plans have statistically proved time and time again to extend the life on your investment and also cut down on costly unexpected repairs! You choose the amount of coverage you want (we recommend the 4 quarterly visits) but in this plan it gives updated diagnostics and scheduled PM's to keep you ahead of the curve, it also gives you free parts under 50USD, and discounts for any unscheduled services that may be needed outside the contract. There are countless other benefits to this program this is just to name a few, and when you stop to think of other things you have maintenance done on for example your car or home A.C unit, why wouldn't you use the same care for your home security? especially one that faces the outside elements daily! For more information, please contact our sales experts they will be happy to explain more.
